Join the Hunã Bar Team!

Hunã is looking for a bouncer/doorperson to join our team. Our mission is to set a new a new standard for the cocktail + bar experience in downtown Ann Arbor. We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team and help us deliver an extraordinary dining experience.
The key responsibility of the Bouncer/Doorperson involves crowd control: tracking incoming guests, updating our reservation system, verifying state-approved identification, holding guests accountable to our behavioral standards, and quoting wait times. The Bouncer/Doorperson is the Guest’s first impression of Hunã and is responsible for everyone coming in and out of the bar.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Welcome Guests to Bar Hunã

  • When possible, open the front door for Guests entering or leaving the bar

  • Provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists

  • Manage the queue of guests waiting,

  • Experts in utilizing Tock to maximize our business

  • Properly and consistently ID guests

  • Recognize repeat guests and creating a hospitable rapport

  • Discuss general key stats of Hunã and Echelon

  • Greet Guests upon their departure

  • Coordinate with wait staff about available seating options

  • Maintain a clean reception area

  • Cater to Guests who require extra attention (e.g., children, elderly)

  • Thank Guests as they leave and invite them to return

  • Assist wait staff as needed

  • Assist in opening and closing duties as assigned

  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • 1+ years of experience in Hospitality or Customer Service preferred, but not required

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

  • Able to work well under pressure during times of high-volume service

  • Neat and organized on the floor during service

  • Shows consistent work habits and a great work ethic

  • Possess the ability to multitask and problem solve

  • Able to speak appropriately and communicate to Guests in a professional manner

  • Proactive and enthusiastic team player working well with others

  • Positive personality and a professional attitude

  • Working knowledge of the menu and all available offerings

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office and email.
