It is the primary responsibility of the Bar Porter to ensure the bar is stocked with all items and kept clean. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures. This job description is a summary of duties; however, it is by no means an all-inclusive list. It is merely a broad guide to the expected duties of the position.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
• Ensure maximum usage of all supplies to attain budgeted beverage cost and to prevent waste
• Deliver orders from the warehouse to the bar in a timely manner
• Anticipate guests’ needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency
• Assist Bartenders in the execution of service and follow the bartender’s direction
• Empty trash on a regular basis
• Wash glasses to ensure the bar is fully stocked
• Mop/clean floors as necessary to ensure a clean and safe work area
• Respond to Bartender needs by running for liquor, glassware, stock, etc.
• Perform all opening and closing duties, based upon shift assignment
• Bid farewell to guests, using guest’s name when known, and encourage them to return
• Adhere to all Company Standard Operating Procedures
• Work as a team, assisting all guests and employees’ needs and inquiries
• Effectively communicate with management, bartenders, and service staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and or other employees
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas
• Assists and/ or completes additional tasks as assigned
• Maintain line of sight/atmosphere control by circulating through your work area throughout shift
• Report any incidents of theft, vandalism, or violations
• Respond to Guest concerns/complaints and correct errors or resolve complaints with a positive attitude
• Ability to communicate with Guests and co-workers
• Recognize and acknowledge when Guests are becoming intoxicated and/or are intoxicated
• Monitor potentially intoxicated and/or disruptive Guests and promptly bring to a Manager’s attention
• Comply with all state and federal liquor laws
• Comply with all safety and health department procedures as well as Company and/or departmental policies/procedures
• Keep bar top clean and free of dirty glasses, dirty ashtrays, trash, etc. throughout shift
• Keep back bar clean and organized
• Ensure nightly/weekly and opening/running/closing duties are completed
• Maintain opening/closing liquor, beer, wine, and consumables par
• Record and report any equipment failure and/or safety hazards to a Manager immediately
• Ensure proper rotation of all liquor, beer, wine, and consumable items
• Maintain Company Safety and Sanitation Standards
• Clean all spills and waste immediately
• Safely transport service items to back of house for washing
• Sweep and mop as needed
• Place all trash in proper receptacles
• Polish and wash glassware throughout shift
• Prepares all mixes and garnishes
• Provide service to Model Bartenders, Model Cocktail Servers, and Beverage Runners in a timely manner
• Related duties as assigned based on extensive experience working in a nightclub and/or entertainment venue
• Assist all other team members as needed
• Create and maintain a sense of urgency
• Appear in uniform for all shifts and promotional activities at scheduled time
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned
• Inform Management of any complaints, comments, or incidents
• Assist with loading/unloading of miscellaneous equipment, such as boxes, food and beverage product
• Responsible to ensure all stocking is complete, requisitions are filled out and any shortage of stock is reported
• Present an alluring and attractive image to further the overall theme of the club
• Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company standards
• Ability to create and maintain service rapport through The Company Corporate philosophy
• Assist and/ or complete additional tasks as assigned
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
• Tao Group Hospitality in-venue training
EDUCATION/WORKING KNOWLEDGE:
• Six (6) months previous bar porter experience required. Familiarity working in high volume Nightclub, kitchen, bar, lounge, and/or restaurant

• Inventory and stock rotation
• Guest relations
• Sanitation and safety
• Properly use two-way radio, knives and pallet jacks
• Knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, wines and non-alcoholic selections available
• 21+ years of age
