Job description

A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a junior-level Employment Defense Attorney to join its growing Labor & Employment practice. The firm serves as trusted counsel to some of the nation's leading transportation and logistics companies, providing strategic advice and defense in complex employment matters across multiple jurisdictions.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 2โ€“5 years of experience to gain hands-on litigation experience, work directly with sophisticated clients, and develop a deep understanding of the unique employment challenges facing the transportation industry.

Responsibilities

  • Defend employers in employment-related litigation in state and federal courts.
  • Handle matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour disputes, wrongful termination, leave and accommodation issues, and other workplace claims.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, and legal memoranda.
  • Conduct legal research and assist in developing case strategy.
  • Participate in depositions, mediations, hearings, and other litigation proceedings.
  • Prepare witnesses and assist with trial preparation.
  • Counsel transportation and logistics clients on employment law compliance, workplace policies, and risk management initiatives.
  • Collaborate with attorneys across the firm's national platform on complex and high-profile matters.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 2โ€“5 years of employment litigation experience, preferably representing employers.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience drafting substantive motions, handling discovery, or participating in depositions is preferred.
