Job description

The Senior Systems Administrator is a hands-on, technical role responsible for supporting and advancing the organization’s IT infrastructure across cloud, on-premises, and enterprise application environments. This position blends advanced systems administration, cloud solutioning, and operational support with a strong emphasis on disaster recovery readiness and enterprise system reliability. The Senior Systems Administrator requires a proactive, solutions-oriented professional capable of balancing strategic cloud initiatives with day-to-day ticket support and operational responsibilities. The ideal candidate demonstrates deep technical expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to continuously learn and adapt across a broad technology stack, including operating systems, networking, and enterprise platforms. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity
    • Oversee and validate enterprise backup solutions across on-premises and cloud environments.
    • Perform regular backup testing, restoration drills, and disaster recovery exercises.
    • Ensure Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) are defined and met.
    • Maintain and improve disaster recovery documentation and runbooks.
    • Identify gaps in resiliency and implement improvements to strengthen business continuity posture.
  • Cloud & Systems Administration
    • Design, implement, and support cloud-based solutions (primarily Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments).
    • Manage identity services including Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID (SSO, MFA, conditional access).
    • Administer endpoint management platforms (e.g., Intune) and system configurations.
  • Maintain Windows Server, virtualization platforms, storage systems, and networking components.
    • Monitor system performance, availability, and security across hybrid environments.
    • Support automation and optimization of infrastructure through scripting and tooling.
  • Helpdesk & Operational Support
    • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 escalation support for complex technical issues.
    • Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and cloud-related issues.
    • Support onboarding and offboarding of users, devices, and access controls.
    • Ensure timely resolution and documentation of tickets while maintaining high service levels.
    • Mentor junior-mid IT staff and contribute to improving helpdesk processes.
  • Enterprise Systems (ERP)
    • Learn, support, and assist in administration of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to troubleshoot ERP-related issues.
    • Support integrations between ERP and other enterprise systems.
    • Assist in upgrades, patches, and performance optimization of ERP environments.
    • Document workflows, configurations, and system dependencies.
  • Security & Compliance

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum High School diploma
  • Bachelor’s degree with 6+ yeas or equivalent experience preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or equivalent preferred.
  • Networking certification: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNS) or equivalent preferred.
  • CompTIA Security+ preferred.
  • Additional certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect, CISSP) are a plus.
