Location: Delray Beach, Florida
Schedule: Part-Time
Pay Rate: $15.50 per hour

Position Summary

The Activities Assistant supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of recreational, social, educational, and therapeutic programs that promote residents' physical, emotional, and social well-being. This role is essential in creating a positive, engaging environment where residents feel valued, connected, and supported.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with planning, organizing, and facilitating daily recreational and social activities.

  • Lead and participate in games, arts and crafts, music programs, exercise classes, group events, and holiday celebrations.

  • Encourage resident participation while fostering a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.

  • Build positive relationships with residents and their families to understand individual interests and preferences.

  • Provide one-on-one visits and companionship for residents requiring individualized engagement.

  • Assist with transporting residents safely to and from activities when needed.

  • Prepare activity rooms, equipment, and supplies before programs and clean up afterward.

  • Observe resident participation and document attendance, engagement, and responses to activities.

  • Maintain activity supplies and assist with inventory management.

  • Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary team members to promote resident-centered programming.

  • Follow all facility policies, safety standards, and state and federal regulations.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Two (2) years of experience in activities, recreation, customer service, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience working in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, assisted living, or long-term care setting preferred.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Compassionate, patient, energetic, and resident-focused attitude.

  • Dependable, professional, and flexible with scheduling.
