Job description

A growing CPA and advisory firm is expanding its Client Accounting Services team and seeking an experienced Client Accounting Services Accountant / Senior Bookkeeper.

This is not a transactional or data-entry bookkeeping position. You will manage a portfolio of small to mid-sized business clients, take ownership of their monthly accounting processes, and serve as a trusted financial partner to business owners and internal advisory teams.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys building client relationships, analyzing financial information, improving accounting processes, and managing work from beginning to end.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage the day-to-day accounting needs of an assigned portfolio of clients
  • Own the monthly close process, including account reconciliations and adjusting journal entries
  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements
  • Identify discrepancies, accounting issues, and opportunities to improve client processes
  • Manage and oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows
  • Maintain accurate general ledger activity and supporting schedules
  • Assist with cash flow reporting, budgeting, and other financial analysis
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding financial results, outstanding items, and accounting needs
  • Collaborate with tax and advisory professionals to support tax compliance, year-end reporting, and strategic planning
  • Help clients maintain accurate, timely, and well-organized financial records

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous bookkeeping, accounting, or Client Accounting Services experience
  • Experience managing multiple clients, entities, or sets of financial records
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and the monthly close process
  • Experience preparing and analyzing financial statements
  • Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and basic data analysis
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A proactive, client-service-oriented approach
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a broader accounting, tax, and advisory team

Experience working within a CPA firm, public accounting environment, outsourced accounting department, or Client Accounting Services practice is highly preferred.

Why Join Us?

This is not your typical public accounting firm. The organization is known for investing in its employees, supporting professional growth, and maintaining very little staff turnover.

Team members receive:

  • Hybrid work schedule
  • Employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Five weeks of paid time off
  • Paid holidays
  • Fridays off during the summer
  • Career advancement opportunities
  • Supportive and collaborative work environment
  • Opportunity to grow with an expanding CPA and advisory firm

This position offers the opportunity to do meaningful accounting work, develop long-term client relationships, and build your career with a firm that values both professional excellence and quality of life.
