Job Purpose
The Inside Account representative is responsible for driving revenue and customer retention by handling inbound sales inquiries, following up on leads, and executing outbound campaigns. This role combines high volume phone work, lead management, cross department coordination, and consultative selling to sign up residential customers for curbside, roll off, and front end loader services while supporting non sales customer needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Handle inbound calls through Inside Sales/Broker Queue & overflow from other departments (Billing, Carts, Residential).
  • Receive and work SEO & Google leads filled out by clients and emailed to us and stored in Microsoft Teams lead pages.
  • Follow up on previously submitted leads with calls, voicemails and emails at least 3 times for any submitted product if not sold on initial call before considering lost or closed lead.
  • Execute sales strategy & scripting with high levels of enthusiasm and effort.
  • Assist non-sales related customers by either transferring to separate departments or handling customers directly, depending on customer and needs, issues or concerns.
  • Sign up residential customers for curbside, roll off or FEL service based on needs and ensure ability to reliably service or deliver/collect.
  • Actively manage and assist with residential and commercial customer changes and inquiries.
  • Retain customers who are looking to cancel residential curbside services by trying to help and solve service issues or other concerns.
  • Cancel accounts, if necessary, from our residential curbside customers by speaking with them and are unable to retain or keep with us, to then have their information sent to appropriate departments.
  • Create and execute outbound call campaigns, as needed, to find and earn new business in areas where we can grow density as a company to make areas and services more productive and profitable.
  • Review calls and structure with manager on regular cadence to ensure execution and follow through to improve sales and customer service skills.

The successful candidate profile includes:
  • Bachelor's Degree in public relations, marketing, sales, management, or related field
  • Strong computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to attend evening meetings
  • Understanding of the municipal decision-making process
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Prior waste experience is a plus, but not required
  • Prior experience in municipal government or relations is preferred
