Job description

The Account Manager is responsible for providing the primary customer service experience to the clients of the agency. In addition, this position is designed to provide support to producers in working with clients.
Duties:
  • Manage assigned accounts for customer service
    • File changes and required updates on accounts with the carriers.
    • Update the agency management system with files, activities and any pertinent information.
    • Complete all paperwork and file/ scan to the agency management system.
    • Remarket any renewals if necessary.

  • Take incoming phone calls addressing the following service issues:
    • Billing inquiries or problems.
    • Processing of policy changes in system and with carriers.

  • Provide Certificates of Insurance, Evidence of Insurance, ID Cards, Etc...

  • Internal Processing
    • Processing policies and endorsements to send to customers for review and accuracy of filing.
    • Preparing outgoing mail and receiving incoming mail daily.

  • Marketing New Business Accounts
    • Completing in house underwriting, carrier selection and application review.
    • Quoting accounts in carrier systems, comparative rater or preparing for submission.
    • Price negotiation.
    • Delivering price while selling yourself and/or field producers to the client.
    • Review of application prior to submission to carrier for issuance.
    • Maintaining an individual book of business (house accounts).

  • Attending all required continuing education required by the state to maintain licensure.

  • Meeting and collaborating with management to discuss direction and planning of the service department.

Skills/ Qualifications
  • Current NC Property & Casualty License
  • Two years administrative commercial insurance experience
  • Thorough working knowledge of personal and commercial lines policies, including homeowners, auto, umbrella, commercial packages, commercial auto and workers compensation.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills between clients, co workers and superiors
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Applied Epic (TAM) knowledge
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
