Job description

Commercial Lines Agent / Customer Service Representative
An established independent insurance agency serving the Durham/Chapel Hill area for more than 70 years is seeking a motivated professional to join our Commercial Lines team as a Commercial Lines Agent / Customer Service Representative (CSR).
This position is an excellent opportunity for a driven insurance professional interested in building a long-term career in commercial insurance. The successful candidate will work closely with an experienced Commercial Lines Agent who will provide mentorship and hands-on training to help strengthen skills in commercial insurance, account management, sales, and client service.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with the creation, quoting, and issuance of new commercial insurance policies
  • Provide ongoing customer service and account management for existing commercial client
  • Respond to client questions regarding coverage, policies, renewals, billing, and other insurance needs
  • Review existing accounts and identify opportunities for additional or improved coverage
  • Support policy renewals, endorsements, certificates of insurance, and other policy changes
  • Communicate with insurance carriers to obtain quotes and resolve policy-related issues
  • Develop strong relationships with current and prospective clients
  • Participate in sales and business development efforts to help grow the agency's commercial book of business
  • Maintain accurate and organized client and policy documentation
Qualifications
  • Active Property & Casualty insurance license required
  • Commercial lines insurance experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and eager to learn
  • Comfortable working with clients and developing professional relationships
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
