Job Summary/Description:

Atlanta News First (WANF) is looking for an aggressive, experienced general assignment reporter who is hungry for the lead story every night! The ideal candidate for this position is a rock star on breaking news, enterprise stories, and special projects. If you love reporting live, getting the exclusive, and owning the story, apply now!

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:  

- Aggressively cover live breaking news and weather
- Generate enterprise and exclusive stories
- Create compelling content for broadcast, streaming, digital, and social platforms daily
- Seek out diverse perspectives and include those voices in stories
- Be a leader in the newsroom by actively engaging in the editorial process
- Develop a strong network of sources in the community
- Participate in community events on behalf of the station

Qualifications/Requirements:

- A degree in journalism or a related field is preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience as an on-air reporter or MMJ; 7 years preferred
- Medium/ large market experience preferred
- Outstanding writing skills
- Energetic, compelling live presence
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills
- Scheduling flexibility required
- Must provide a link to recent examples of reporting, including live breaking news, packages, and digital content
