Job description

SUMMARY

We have an exciting opportunity for a Paper Machine Superintendent/Supervisor in the north Richmond, VA area. This role will lead the daily paper machine operations ensuring safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency are met. We are seeking moldable high-potential talent to develop. This role is intended to create a direct runway into a Production Manager and eventually Plant Manager role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive execution of daily management systems, including structured shift handovers and production reviews.
  • Monitor performance, identify losses, and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead, coach, and develop frontline supervisors and hourly employees to build capability and accountability.
  • Champion a strong safety culture through visible leadership, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Partner closely with Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality teams to improve reliability and process performance.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical Engineering, or related field a must.
  • 5–8+ years of progressive experience in paper manufacturing industry
  • Proven leadership experience managing supervisors and production teams
  • Strong technical understanding of paper machine operations
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results and continuous improvement
  • Experience in a Assistant Superintendent, Process Engineer, Reliability Engineer, Asset Supervisor, or Production Plant Supervisor
  • Exposure to reliability programs or manufacturing excellence systems
