Job description

A Snapshot of Your Day
As the Refurbishment & Upgrades Manager, you will lead field execution teams delivering modernization, retrofit, and upgrade projects across the installed base of FACTS and HVDC systems.
Your day includes coordinating Field Service Engineers, project teams, and stakeholders to plan and execute complex refurbishment projects, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum performance improvements for customer assets.
You will serve as the primary leader for field execution, aligning resources, overseeing project delivery, and ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency across multiple concurrent upgrade projects. This role is critical to extending asset life, improving reliability, and supporting the energy transition through modernization of existing grid infrastructure.
How You'll Make an Impact:
  • Leading and managing a team of Field Service Engineers executing refurbishment, retrofit, and upgrade projects on FACTS and HVDC systems
  • Overseeing end-to-end project execution, including planning, scheduling, site activities, and customer coordination
  • Planning, allocating, and mobilizing field resources effectively across multiple concurrent projects
  • Coordinating closely with engineering, factories, and supply chain to ensure technical alignment and on-time delivery
  • Driving execution excellence by tracking safety, schedule, cost, and performance metrics while resolving field and customer escalations
  • Ensuring compliance with safety standards and contractual commitments while capturing lessons learned to improve quality and reduce non-conformance costs

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 10 or more years of experience in high-voltage transmission systems, preferably FACTS and/or HVDC. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa.
  • Proven experience leading field execution teams or service organizations, with accountability for site-based operations and results
  • Strong background in HV system installation, commissioning, maintenance, and upgrade execution, across multiple concurrent projects
  • Deep knowledge of safety leadership and compliance, including OSHA, NFPA 70E, and LOTO standards
  • Demonstrated people leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to perform in fast-paced, high-pressure environments

Travel, as needed (~30-40%)

You will lead the Refurbishment & Upgrades function, a key pillar in the reorganization designed to provide dedicated ownership of execution for modernization and upgrade activities across the installed fleet.
The team is composed of highly skilled Field Service Engineers and technical specialists responsible for installation, maintenance, repair, and upgrade of high-voltage systems, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction.
Working closely with the Orders & Execution organization, engineering teams, and global partners, this function ensures seamless delivery from design to field implementation, enabling scalable growth and improved reliability of grid assets.
