Job description: IT Asset Operations Specialist
Constellation seeks an IT Asset Operations Specialist to join our Homeland Security team in Washington, DC-5 days per week. The Specialist will serve as a key intermediary between organizational operations and field office logistics. This role combines traditional data-driven process improvement with the hands-on management of office facilities and government equipment. The Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that staff across multiple field offices have the space, supplies, and tools necessary to function, while maintaining rigorous internal controls via digital tracking systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Analysis & Process Improvement:
  • Analyze operational workflows to identify inefficiencies in asset allocation.
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements for the enhancement of internal tracking tools.
  • Develop and maintain reports on equipment lifecycle, procurement trends, and space utilization.
Facilities & Office Coordination:
  • Coordinate the use of office space, ensuring facilities meet staff needs (e.g., project management spaces, lockers, and lactation rooms).
  • Manage the procurement of office supplies for diverse field office locations, ensuring cost-effectiveness and availability.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for field office facility requirements and infrastructure projects.
Asset & Property Management:
  • Ensure strict internal control and accountability of personally issued government equipment across the entire organization.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of local property management, including inventory audits, issuance to staff, new purchasing, and the excessing of equipment.
  • Maintain real-time accuracy of all assets using aPowerApps tracker, ensuring data integrity for audit purposes.
  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of high-value IT assets, including the procurement, inventory, and secure issuance oflaptopsandmobile phones, while utilizing specializedtracking softwareand aPowerApps trackerto monitor software licensing and ensure 100% accountability of all assigned equipment.
The ideal candidate must have the following experience, background, and credentials:
  • Ability to lift and carry items typically weighing up to 5-15 pounds.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a Business support role.
  • Capability to safely move equipment such as boxes, small furniture, and office devices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Power BI).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resource Management, or a related field.
  • Be a U.S. citizen able to pass a background investigation by the client agency. DHS clearance with CBP or DoD Top-Secret preferred.
