Employment Type: Part-time
Job Overview:
We are currently hiring for someone to join our team as an Assessor. In this role, you will conduct comprehensive screenings and assessments for individuals seeking behavioral health and substance use services. You will evaluate client needs, determine appropriate levels of care, and provide referrals and recommendations based on clinical findings. This position plays a critical role in ensuring timely access to services and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct intake screenings, biopsychosocial assessments, and diagnostic evaluations for clients.
  • Determine clinical appropriateness and level of care using evidence-based assessment tools and criteria.
  • Provide referrals and coordinate admissions to appropriate programs and services.
  • Document all assessments and client interactions in compliance with state, accreditation, and agency standards.
  • Collaborate with clinical and admissions teams to ensure smooth transitions into care.
  • Identify and respond to crisis situations, including conducting risk assessments and coordinating emergency interventions as needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of community resources and provide linkage to external providers when appropriate.
  • Participate in team meetings and case staffing to support continuity of care.
  • Ensure all assessments meet regulatory, contractual, and organizational requirements.
  • Represent the agency professionally in all interactions, including community partnerships and referral sources.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field preferred.
  • Relevant licensure or credential (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or substance use certification) preferred, depending on program requirements.
  • Experience in behavioral health intake, assessment, or admissions strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of ASAM criteria and diagnostic processes (DSM) preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and decision-making skills.
  • Comfortable providing assessments via telehealth platforms (training provided)
