What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in assembly drone roles, and how can they be overcome?

Professionals working in assembly drone roles often encounter challenges such as keeping up with rapidly evolving technology, ensuring strict adherence to safety and quality standards, and troubleshooting complex mechanical or electronic issues. Staying current with manufacturer updates, participating in ongoing training, and collaborating closely with engineers and quality assurance teams can help overcome these hurdles. Additionally, effective communication within the assembly team and attention to detail are crucial for maintaining high efficiency and minimizing assembly errors.

What are assembly drones?

Assembly drones are unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) designed to assist or automate the assembly of structures, components, or products. These drones are equipped with specialized tools and sensors that allow them to handle, position, and sometimes even attach or fasten materials in construction, manufacturing, or maintenance tasks. They can operate in environments that are difficult or dangerous for humans, increasing efficiency and safety. Assembly drones are increasingly used in industries like construction, telecommunications, and energy for tasks such as assembling towers, infrastructure, or modular components.

What is the difference between Assembly Drones vs Assembly Technicians?

AspectAssembly DronesAssembly Technicians

Job description

Who we are

Neros is a defense technology company rebuilding America's drone industrial base. We design and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are tested in combat, iterated at startup speed, and built at massive scale. Our team culture is fast, hands-on, and obsessed with closing the gap between design and deployment.

As drones transform the character of warfare, Neros is delivering the systems the West needs to compete on the modern battlefield and deter the adversaries of democracy. We're hiring engineers, operators, and builders who want to move fast, take on extreme ownership, and get capability into the hands of warfighters in months, not years.

What you will be doing

As a Mechanical Assembly Technician at Neros, you will be instrumental in the assembly of our drones. Your day to day will consist of working closely with leaders to read, interpret, and execute on work orders. You will also be assembling mechanical systems-from full vehicle structures to installing components,  sub-assemblies, and other using other hand-tools such as screwdrivers and tweezers.

This is a highly dynamic role where you will get an opportunity to see a factory being built from the ground up and potentially influence the success of our company. The role will also have opportunities for professional advancement.  If you are an organized, detail & process oriented mechanical assembly technician, please apply below.

You should have the following

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 2+ years of experience with hand or power tools
  • Ability to read work instructions
  • Hands on experience with mechanical assemblies
  • Practical knowledge of safe work practices such as safe work practices for specific tools
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions

Nice to have

  • Part-107 and/or experience flying drones FPV and line of sight

US Salary Range
