Role Summary:
The Senior Assembly Technician works under the direction of the Head of US Operations – Heven West, following work instructions and procedures to assemble, test, and troubleshoot electromechanical systems, assemblies, and components. This role includes setting up, operating, and maintaining production equipment, completing required production documentation, and training and supporting new technicians. With a strong focus on hands-on manufacturing and production-level assembly, the Senior Assembly Technician ensures high standards of quality control and operational efficiency.

We are seeking a technician who is hungry, humble, and smart—someone who takes initiative to continuously improve processes and team performance, shares knowledge and supports the development of others, and applies sound judgment and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced production environment. This role plays a key part in fostering a collaborative, accountable team culture while driving high-quality output and reliable production results.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, integrate, and test electromechanical systems, including electrical components, mechanical parts, and wiring, while interpreting and following blueprints, technical diagrams, procedures, work instructions, and forms. Operate production and test equipment. Troubleshoot issues with products, parts, tools, or equipment, performing maintenance or rework defined/required.
  • Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes. Drive company vehicles and trailers as required.
  • Complete production work orders, checklists, test reports, and other forms accurately.
  • Provide mentorship to other technicians, offering problem-solving support and technical expertise. Develop and deliver training for new technicians.
  • Foster effective communication with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure project success.
  • Enhance production processes to increase efficiency and quality. Work with cross-functional teams to resolve quality and technical issues.
  • Uphold industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines in all activities.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 7+ years of experience as an electromechanical technician, assembler, or in a similar hands-on technical role
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude regarding electromechanical assembly and the tools/equipment used to manufacture products, with experience in precision assembly and component fitting
  • Strong experience with ERP/MRP systems in a production environment
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated passion for operational excellence, innovation, and finding solutions as problems arise
  • Advanced interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and maintain credibility in customer, supplier, and co-worker interactions
  • Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues to drive projects to successful completion in a team environment
  • Ability to quickly understand and apply new concepts in evolving environments while adjusting work approaches to address complex problems
  • Demonstrated ability to be meticulous and thorough in completing work tasks, ensuring high-quality results and adherence to specifications and standards
  • Efficiently managing time to meet production deadlines
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Basic computer skills for inventory management, using manufacturing software, or entering production data
  • Clean driving record, and the ability to drive with a trailer and pass a Commercial Driver Fitness Determination

Preferred:

  • 7+ years of experience assembling and testing complex mechanical products
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience with tools and equipment: familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and machinery
  • Forklift or Crane Certification: If the role requires operating heavy machinery
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude
  • Safety Certifications: OSHA certification or similar workplace safety certification
  • Associate's degree in manufacturing technology, mechanical engineering, industrial technology, or a related field

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform hands-on assembly work for extended periods, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally, with or without assistance.
  • Ability to use hands and fingers to handle, assemble, and manipulate small components and tools requiring fine motor skills and precision.
  • Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and production equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ability to operate or be trained to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Ability to safely operate company vehicles and trailers, including entering and exiting vehicles and securing loads.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read technical documents, blueprints, and computer screens, and to inspect components for quality and accuracy (including close vision and depth perception).
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing or production environment, which may include exposure to moderate noise levels, moving mechanical parts, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and steel-toe footwear.
  • Ability to remain focused and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment while performing repetitive tasks.
