PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

Perform the tasks required to assemble parts to form subassemblies and/or complete units.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Following directions from management and daily work orders, identify parts and products to be assembled and prep the workstation
  • Verify that the part(s) being assembled matches its label and meets the specifications required by the work order for size, style, quantity, etc.
  • Inspect the condition of parts and items assembled. Report any damaged items to management immediately upon discovery
  • Following standard operating procedures and using the proper tools and equipment, assemble parts as directed to form subassemblies and/or complete units
  • Remove small quantities of plastic flashing with hand files, scrapers, or sanders to produce cosmetically appealing and proper fitting parts
  • Clean and reinspect finished products to ensure they are free from dust, blemishes, or other contamination. Set aside and report any defects to management that cannot be corrected
  • Properly label all items assembled
  • Complete the appropriate documentation for all items assembled by recording identifying information of the product in company records
  • Move products within the facility by carrying, pushing, rolling, or operating hand trucks or other material handling equipment
  • Ensure that assembly stations, tools, and equipment are in working order and stocked with all appropriate materials
  • Make safety a priority consideration with all actions taken. Immediately report any unsafe or potentially unsafe situation to management upon discovery
  • Always maintain a clean and organized environment by sweeping, mopping, straightening, and verifying all items are in their correct locations utilizing 5S procedures, and by participating in Kaizen events
  • Assist others within the facility as needed
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL

REQUIRED:

  • 1 year of experience in a physical environment
  • Must speak, read, and write English with high proficiency to follow instructions, correctly label products, and document work performed
  • Basic computer skills

PREFERRED:

  • 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Vision: Use vision to read, write, type, operate office, electronic, and manufacturing equipment, and make fine adjustments.

Motor Coordination: Requires hands to operate equipment.

Lift/Carry: Regularly lift, push, and move up to 50lbs.

Environment: Office and warehouse environments may be dust, contain sharp edges, include areas that are not well lit, the floor may be uneven or cracked, and the facility may be subject to variations in temperature.
