Job description

A growing DOT-certified pavement management and heavy civil construction company with more than 30 years in business is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support commercial paving and roadway projects throughout South Florida. The company specializes in milling and paving, asphalt repair, sealcoating, concrete repair, line striping, and site development for major commercial, municipal, and property management clients throughout Florida and the Southeast. Projects include commercial parking lots, roadways, and municipal site work with no overnight travel required.


Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers with roadway paving, milling, asphalt repair, sealcoating, and site work projects
  • Assist with scheduling, subcontractor coordination, material procurement, budgeting, and change orders
  • Communicate with field superintendents and crews to ensure project timelines, safety, and quality standards are met
  • Participate in daily safety meetings and attend project site visits throughout South Florida
  • Manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, daily reports, and photo logs
  • Work within a structured Project Management training and mentorship program


Requirements

  • Hands-on heavy civil construction experience with an asphalt and paving background
  • Must have direct field exposure working with blacktop/asphalt operations
  • Experience with roadway, milling, paving, parking lot, or site work projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively with field crews and superintendents
  • Self-starter comfortable working in a fast-paced, direct environment
  • DOT or municipal roadway experience is a plus
  • Heavy Job (HCSS), Vista by Viewpoint, or related software experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is preferred but not required
