Rainier Asphalt & Construction is seeking a highly skilledAsphalt Foremanwho is responsible for overseeing daily operations onAsphalt Projectsto ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications. This role involves working should to shoulder with crew members, training & development of crew members, supervisory responsibilities, coordinating with superintendents, project managers and subcontractors, managing materials and equipment, and ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to deadlines.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Brand ambassador and customer service liaison while onsite.
  • Care and service of our crew members; safety, training, development, communication, and collaboration!
  • Ensure safety compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Supervise and lead crews onsite in the removal and placement of materials.
  • Supervise and lead crews onsite, including laborers, equipment operators, and truck drivers.
  • Coordinate daily project activities to meet production schedules and job specifications, with an emphasis on safety and compliance.
  • Read and interpret project plans, technical specifications, survey stakes, and hubs.
  • Monitor the quality of asphalt (paving and patching) and/or concrete (flatwork) mix and installation.
  • Operate and oversee the use of equipment such as asphalt paver, mini excavator, skid steer, mill, and roller.
  • Communicate effectively with inspectors, superintendents, and project managers on project status.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, time, materials used, and crew attendance.
  • Identify and resolve on-site issues or delays to maintain project timelines.
  • Conduct daily toolbox talks, training, and enforce safety policies and best practices.


Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 75-100lbs
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school training preferred.
  • Minimum 35 years of experience in Asphalt (paving & patching) with at least 12 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of asphalt materials, equipment, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to read prints and project specifications.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in operating paving and heavy equipment.
  • Valid drivers license; CDL preferred.


Working Conditions:

  • Year-round, outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
  • Extended hours, including weekends and nights, required occasionally year-round.
  • Physically demanding environment including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.


Compensation:

  • $35-$45 per hour based on experience
