What is an Asp Net Developer Intern?

An ASP.NET Developer Intern is an entry-level position where individuals gain hands-on experience in developing web applications using Microsoft's ASP.NET framework. Interns typically work under the supervision of senior developers, assisting with coding, debugging, testing, and maintaining software applications. They may also collaborate on database integration, front-end development, and API implementation. This role helps interns build practical skills in .NET technologies, C#, and web development while preparing them for a full-time developer role.

What kinds of projects or tasks do Asp Net Developer Interns typically work on during their internship?

Asp Net Developer Interns often assist with the development and maintenance of web applications, perform code reviews, troubleshoot bugs, and write unit tests under the guidance of senior developers. Interns may work on both front-end and back-end tasks, such as implementing user interface components, connecting to databases, or creating API endpoints. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including designers and QA testers, is common to support the full software development lifecycle. The projects provide hands-on experience with industry-standard tools and processes, giving interns a well-rounded foundation in web application development.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Asp Net Developer Intern position, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Asp Net Developer Intern, you need a solid understanding of C#, ASP.NET frameworks, basic web development concepts, and typically a background in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with tools like Visual Studio, SQL Server, version control systems such as Git, and exposure to web APIs is important, while relevant certifications (such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals) can be beneficial. Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, eagerness to learn, and effective communication are soft skills that help interns stand out. These competencies ensure you can effectively contribute to real-world projects, collaborate with team members, and grow within a dynamic software development environment.

Job description

Description

CarShield is seeking an experienced Full-Stack Developer to join its growing AI team. In this role, you\'ll help support, improve, and build the internal applications used every day by our claims, QA, and sales teams. Our current portfolio includes applications for paid-claims review, multi-vendor parts sourcing, outbound lead management, and representative training, built with Angular front ends and ASP.NET Core (.NET 10) APIs.

This role combines new development with ownership of applications already in production. You\'ll troubleshoot issues reported by users, improve performance and reliability, keep the technology stack current, build new features end to end, and maintain integrations with critical business systems. You\'ll also work with AI-enabled functionality, including applications that use LLMs and AI agents to review claims and score risk.

  • Support and improve production applications, resolving user-reported issues, performance bottlenecks, and edge cases

  • Build new features end to end using Angular, TypeScript, C#, and ASP.NET Core

  • Maintain and modernize applications through Angular upgrades, dependency updates, vulnerability patching, and database migrations

  • Diagnose and optimize slow queries and application performance

  • Maintain integrations with SQL Server, Microsoft Fabric, Salesforce, and third-party vendor APIs

  • Support and monitor LLM and AI-agent functionality embedded within production applications

  • Containerize and deploy applications using Docker and GitHub Actions

  • Support application authentication and access using Active Directory and LDAPS

  • Work within existing codebases, understand established design decisions, and make thoughtful, maintainable changes

  • Collaborate in a fast-moving environment where solutions are shipped, measured, and iterated based on real-world results

Requirements

  • Strong full-stack software development experience in a production environment.

  • Hands-on experience with C# and ASP.NET Core/.NET.

  • Strong understanding of relational databases and SQL; SQL Server experience preferred.

  • Experience supporting and maintaining applications after production launch.

  • Ability to troubleshoot production issues, analyze existing code, and implement durable fixes.

  • Comfortable working from evolving requirements and independently driving features from development through deployment.

  • Experience with REST APIs and third-party system integrations.

  • Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and GitHub Actions preferred.

  • Experience with Active Directory, LDAP/LDAPS, or enterprise authentication preferred.

  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Salesforce integrations preferred.

  • Interest in building AI-enabled applications and working with LLMs or AI agents.

  • Must be able to work on-site in St. Peters, MO 5 days/week.

  • Bachelor\'s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or equivalent experience.

Pay Rate and Benefits

  • Salary commensurate with experience

  • Group Insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, etc.).

  • 401k with Employer Match.

  • Discounted CarShield policies.

  • Discounted Tuition at Lindenwood University.

  • Professional development opportunities.

  • Basketball, and other recreation available on-site.

  • Fitness facilities, with the option to take classes led by on-staff personal trainer (at St. Peters headquarters).

  • And more!
