Set your sights on a career at Heritage Auctions, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, with offices in New York, Chicago, Beverly Hills, London, Hong Kong, and other cities. Heritage Auctions is the largest auction house founded in the U.S. and serves more than 50 different auction categories including, Coins, Sports, Comics, Historical, Jewelry, Fine & Decorative Art, Wine, and many more.


SUMMARY: Main responsibilities include obtaining consignments of Asian art and oversight of the Asian Art Department. 


LOCATION:   2801 W Airport Fwy Northwest corner of West Airport Freeway and, Valley View Ln, Dallas, TX 75261

COMPENSATION: Commensurate based on experience. 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Source quality consignments from private collectors, estates, dealers, and retailers 
  • Establish estimates and negotiate client terms 
  • Oversee research, authentication, and assist with condition reports 
  • Proofread catalog descriptions and assist with assets for marketing materials 
  • Participate in the expansion of client database 
  • Market-specific consignments to valued clients 
  • Assist with client services as necessary 
  • Review settlements and wires 

Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 

  • 7+ years of experience in Asian Art preferably with a major auction house
  • Some categories covered include snuff bottles, Jade & Hardstone, Porcelain & Pottery, Metalwork & Cloisonne, Furniture, Scholar's Objects & Textiles, Painting and Caligraphy, Himalayan, Indian & Southeast Asian Art, and Japanese Art

SKILLS & ABILITIES: 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, specifically Word and Excel
  • Ability to multitask and pay great attention to detail
  • Must have a positive attitude with exceptional customer service skills
  • Public speaking talents are a plus!
