Job description

Position Overview The Department of History at Claremont McKenna College (CMC) invites applications for a tenure‐track position at the early assistant professor level in Modern Chinese History. The position will begin on July 1, 2027. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in History by the time of appointment. Applicants are expected to teach a survey of Modern China and hold topical seminars in Chinese History and East Asian History. The teaching load is two courses per semester. Candidates must have demonstrated the ability to maintain an active, high‐quality research program and uphold the highest standards of excellence in teaching.
