Job description

Mizuho Americas is seeking a highly motivated Equity Research Associate to join our well-established Industrials team. This role offers hands-on exposure to one of the most dynamic sectors in the market - Industrials (Automation, Data Center, Electrical Equipment, A&D, HVAC, Water Sustainability and broader Capital Goods) while supporting a proven leader with a track record of top-tier client impact. You will play a critical role in producing institutional-quality research. Ideal for candidates with 1-3+ years of sell-side research experience who are eager to accelerate their career alongside a top-ranked mentor and high-impact industry.
Key Responsibilities
โ€ข Collaborate closely with the Senior Analyst on all aspects of coverage, from idea generation to final publication.
โ€ข Develop and continuously update complex financial models, valuation frameworks, and earnings estimates.
โ€ข Perform primary and secondary research, including site visits, expert calls, and industry data analysis.
โ€ข Draft research reports, flash notes, and marketing materials for institutional clients and internal sales teams.
โ€ข Participate in client meetings, investor conferences, and roadshows to build market presence.
Requirements
โ€ข 1-3+ years of relevant sell-side equity research experience (strong preference for Industrials, Capital Goods, or related sectors).
โ€ข Advanced financial modeling skills and proven ability to synthesize complex data into clear investment theses.
โ€ข Bachelor's degree (Finance, Accounting, or Engineering preferred); CFA charter or candidacy strongly encouraged.
โ€ข Outstanding analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
โ€ข High energy, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
โ€ข Proficiency in Bloomberg, FactSet or CapIQ preferred. Claude and Co-Pilot experience a plus.
The expected base salary ranges from $100,000-150,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
