Schedule Details/Additional Information:

Standard working hours are Monday through Friday. However, during deployment periods, schedules may vary based on the location and nature of the assignment, potentially requiring work during evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Pay Range:

$33.05 - $49.60

Essential Functions

  • Fosters cooperation between the PHPC and internal and external agencies involved in disaster preparedness and response.
  • Manages several complex initiatives in collaboration with the Coalition stakeholders.
  • Functions as the point of contact for deployment of disaster equipment and supplies.
  • Develops, maintains and analyzes regional disaster planning data.
  • Assists in maintenance of the Regional Response Plan.
  • Assists in preparation of monthly disaster grant expenditure reports to be submitted to the state.
  • Assists in the development and coordination of MED-1 Disaster response.
  • Ensures proper fleet maintenance programs to all assets and vehicles.
  • Operates vehicles in all types of weather.
  • Maintains disaster response equipment and vehicles in deployment readiness state.
  • Maintains assets in the inventory system according to policy.
  • Maintains a safe and secure environment.
  • Develops, edits, organizes, formats and distributes training materials/courses and other required correspondence as needed.

Physical Requirements
Works in both office and field setting. Requires ability to move about the medical center complex and warehouse. Requires ability to function independently in an around disaster response vehicles and equipment. Requires ability to lift, move and mobilize heavy disaster response supplies and equipment. Frequent local and regional travel. Must have own dependable transportation. Ability to attend meetings as necessary, to include occasional weekends and evenings.


Education, Experience and Certifications

Bachelors Degree in public administration or healthcare related field and experience in administering a program or grant; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; Master's Degree preferred. 4 years relevant work experience (emergency management, project administration, disaster management) required. Mechanical/construction experience preferred, as well. Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of emergency services, grant administration, and project management for local, state, and federal projects. Considerable knowledge of trends and current developments in the field of emergency medical services and hospital disaster response planning. Ability to establish and administer a variety of projects requiring coordination over a geographic region involving multiple agencies. Possess good organizational skills and be self-directed in undertaking daily activities and establishing goals. Ability to express ideas verbally and in writing. Ability to provide leadership to staff, program participants and community members. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels including, federal, state and local. Must have clean driving record. CDL preferred within two years of hire. Knowledge of disaster preparation and response highly preferred.
