JOB DESCRIPTION:
Role Overview:
seeking a Part-Time Sales Manager based in Springfield, IL to drive new IT services and staffing business with Illinois government agencies. The ideal candidate will have direct experience selling to state agencies, familiarity with Illinois procurement processes, and established relationships within the Illinois government ecosystem.
This role is ideal for a seasoned government sales professional looking for a flexible, high-impact engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Government Sales & Business Development
  • Identify and pursue IT services, consulting, and staffing opportunities within Illinois state agencies
  • Build and maintain relationships with:
    • Agency decision-makers
    • Program managers
    • Procurement officers
    • Prime vendors and system integrators
  • Represent Edify in client meetings, networking events, and government forums in and around Springfiel

2. Procurement & Contracting
  • Track and respond to Illinois RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, and contract vehicles
  • Support proposal shaping and strategy in collaboration with Edify leadership and delivery teams
  • Navigate state procurement processes, compliance requirements, and vendor registration systems

3. Account & Pipeline Management
  • Develop and manage a forecasted government sales pipeline
  • Provide regular updates on opportunities, timelines, and win probability
  • Assist in expanding existing accounts and identifying cross-sell opportunities

Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of sales or business development experience in government IT services or IT staffing
  • Direct experience working with Illinois state government agencies
  • Strong understanding of:
    • State procurement processes
    • Public-sector contracting models
    • IT services and staffing solutions
  • Proven ability to open doors, influence stakeholders, and close deals
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Must be based in or near Springfield, IL
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Existing relationships within Illinois agencies or prime contractors
  • Experience selling:
    • Application development
    • Data / analytics
