Job Title: Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Position Overview:

We are seeking a results-driven Senior Manufacturing Engineer to play a key role in advancing our manufacturing capabilities and driving operational excellence. In this high-impact position, you will lead the development and implementation of cutting-edge manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling that bring our scientific products from concept to production. Leveraging your expertise in process optimization, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement, you will enhance efficiency, improve product quality, reduce costs, and deliver scalable solutions that support business growth. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on engineering leader who is passionate about solving complex challenges, driving innovation, and making a measurable impact across the organization.

Location: Full-Time Onsite: Portsmouth, NH


What you will be doing:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of new manufacturing processes, equipment, and tooling from conception to production.
  • Optimize existing manufacturing processes for efficiency, yield, cost reduction, and quality improvement using lean manufacturing principles and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for manufacturing issues, defects, and non-conformances.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and equipment specifications.
  • Evaluate and recommend new manufacturing technologies and automation solutions to enhance productivity and capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, quality standards, and industry best practices.
  • Participate in capital expenditure planning and justification for new equipment and process improvements.
  • Develop continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis, problem-solving, and cross-functional team leadership.


Skills you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, required.
  • 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering within a high-volume production environment, preferably in the scientific instrumentation or medical device industry.
  • Proven expertise in process development, optimization, and validation (IQ/OQ/PQ).
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing methodologies, statistical process control (SPC) and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools.
  • Understanding of CapEx cycles and proposals.
  • Experience with automation systems, robotics, and PLC programming is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience leading complex engineering projects.

The hiring range for this position is: $110,000 - $130,000, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
