Job Title: Key Account Manager
About the opportunity: The Strategic Key Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact for key BioPharma accounts, building strong, trusted relationships with customer stakeholders and internal teams. This role is responsible for developing and executing long-term account strategies tailored to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, aligned with overall business objectives, driving growth, customer satisfaction, and market expansion within the BioPharma segment.
Location: Remote with overnight travel up to 40%. The ideal candidates lives in the greater Chicago, IL or Wood Dale, IL area.
What you will be doing:
Account Management & Business Development
  • Expand multi-threaded relationships across customer organizations, including executive decision-makers, influencers, and functional stakeholders (e.g., R&D, Manufacturing), to strengthen engagement and accelerate deal progression.
  • Lead new business development and grow existing strategic accounts by identifying target opportunities, executing upsell and cross-sell strategies, and maintaining a strong sales pipeline.
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies, including target account selection, channel approach design, and value proposition messaging, to accelerate opportunity generation within priority accounts.
  • Work closely with regional sales companies as part of Global Strategic Account Management (GSAM) initiative to develop and execute pricing strategies, negotiate commercial terms and customer contracts, and coordinate responses to RFIs, RFPs and RFQs while supporting strategic account growth and customer engagement.

Market Intelligence & Strategic Insights (Macro-Level)
  • Build market intelligence through competitive and industry analysis and provide strategic recommendations to support business decisions, new product development, and product enhancements.

Customer Insights & Account Strategy (Micro-Level)
  • Develop deep customer insights, assess evolving business needs, and execute strategic account plans to drive long-term growth and partnership value.

Marketing & Brand Development
  • Represent the company at industry conferences and events to enhance brand visibility and support market expansion.
  • Develop high-impact presentations, proposals, and communication materials to strengthen external messaging and improve win rates.

Project Execution & Cross-Functional Alignment
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across internal teams and global affiliates to execute customer initiatives, align business priorities, and ensure successful delivery of strategic account objectives.

What you need for success:
  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or related field required; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in Biotech, BioPharma, or Life Sciences.
  • 5+ years of experience in sales.
  • 5+ years of experience managing key accounts.
  • Experience building and delivering compelling presentations and proposals.

The hiring range for this position is: $135,000 - $170,000, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
