The Multilingual Support Division focuses on providing educational services and resources to support multilingual learners, ensuring equitable access to quality education for all students. Under general supervision from the Education Administrator I in the Technical Assistance and Monitoring Office, and the Director of the Multilingual Support Division, and working cooperatively with program units and supervisors throughout the Department, the incumbent works independently on the following: Every Student Succeeds Act, Title III, and Immigrant Student programs.

Examine English learner (EL) programs at school districts for compliance with service delivery requirements by following an established monitoring protocol. Assist local educational agencies (LEAs) with the resolution of noncompliant EL findings identified through the monitoring process. Provide LEAs with technical assistance regarding EL issues.

Provide information and technical assistance to the field on language policies, implementation of state and federal programs for EL students. Research and respond to requests for information on language acquisition issues. Provide research, program updates, exemplary practices, and other timely information for the improvement of program services.

Collaborate with various state organizations whose mission is the improvement of English language development and multi literacy instruction. Travel is required in order to complete these requirements.
