Job description

Primary Purpose:

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in Culinary Arts designed to fulfill their maximum potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.ย  Provide students with industry-based instruction that develops competencies leading to postsecondary education and/or employment.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university; culinary graduate preferred.
  • A valid teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level as posted or required training and industry experience for subject and level as posted.

Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge and skills in Culinary Arts programs.
  • Knowledge and appropriate use of large commercial kitchen equipment.
  • Knowledge of cost control procedures.
  • Knowledge of industry related software.
  • Ability to align Culinary Arts curriculum and instruction to industry certification exams.
  • Knowledge of project-based learning programs.
  • Ability to market Culinary Arts program to students, staff, parents, and business community.
  • Ability to plan banquet menus, prepare and provide catering for campus, district, and community events.
  • Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment.
  • Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong technology skills with a high level of competency in educational use of Google Classroom and MS Office programs.
