Job description

Applications are currently being accepted for interns to support the APA Catalyst family of programs from September 2026 through December 2026. This internship is for course credit, and interns will commit to up to 20 hours a week.

Detailed Description:

The APA Catalyst provides professional development training and mentoring to individuals pursuing careers in behavioral health, and for professionals looking to enhance their leadership skills. The APA Catalyst consists of programs that promote psychological science to bolster and enhance the behavioral health workforce.

Our interns help with program coordination and implementation by providing logistical and administrative support. This is not a clinical or research-focused internship. Requirements:

  • A student currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program of study with an interest in psychology or behavioral health discipline.
  • The internship is a fully remote position. Interested students must reside in a state that meets APAโ€™s residency requirements.
  • Availability to work up to 20 hours a week. The internship is primarily for Monday-Friday during normal business hours, but there is occasional weekend support needed.
  • This is largely an administrative internship opportunity, providing programmatic support. This is not a research or clinical position. Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills are needed.

Interns can expect to learn the following:

  • Program and grant administration and management
  • Promotional material production and dissemination
  • Survey creation, data collection, and analysis for program improvement and implementation
