Job description

Job Description Location: 5010 Solid Waste & Recycling Pay Grade: A06M FLSA Status: Non-exempt Under general supervision, operates a solid waste collection truck to collect and transport residential solid waste and recyclables. *This position performs duties deemed to be "safety-sensitive" and is therefore subjected to random drug testing under the City's policies* Essential Job Functions Coordinates and oversees the work activities of an assigned truck and crew. Assists in enforcing city, department, and division regulations.

Drives solid waste & recycling trucks and loads refuse, trash, and brush. Rakes trash and brush into piles and loads into packer. Interacts with customers on the route about solid waste service inquiries.

Cleans solid waste & recycling truck after completing daily route. Performs routine maintenance on solid waste & recycling truck. Operates packing mechanism.

Completes reports of daily activities. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Education and Experience Requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent, supplemented by one to three years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Requires possession of a valid CDL Driver's License issued by the State of Oklahoma. Physical Requirements Tasks involve the ability to exert exceptionally strong physical effort in very heavy work, typically involving some combination of balancing, climbing, crouching, feeling, handling, hearing, kneeling, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, talking, visual acuity, walking and which involves some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 150 pounds). Must submit to drug screening and DOT physical.
