This is a seasonal full-time position with the potential to transition to regular full-time employment. We are looking for a self-starter who works well with others in an energetic team environment, has the ability to take charge, and possesses a willingness to learn. The candidate must be organized, possess a strong attention to detail and strive to provide a great customer service experience.

Job Summary

The Counter Sales & Hose Fabrication Associate is a crucial role within the company, combining responsibilities from both sales/customer service and operations/production. This position serves as the frontline representative, delivering exceptional customer service at the counter, while also contributing to the fabrication of hydraulic and industrial hoses. The incumbent will engage with customers, process sales transactions, and provide product information, embodying the company's core values. Additionally, they will construct hose assemblies, ensuring quality and compliance with specifications, and adhering to safety protocols. This role requires versatility, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.


Essential Functions

  • Greet customers warmly and provide proactive assistance with product recommendations and information.
  • Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently while maintaining inventory records.
  • Fabricate industrial and hydraulic hoses according to company standards and specifications.
  • Utilize appropriate tools and equipment for hose fabrication, including saws, crimpers, and measuring devices.
  • Safely operate forklifts and pallet jacks to move materials within the warehouse.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the warehouse and showroom areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

  • Position operates in both the front counter and within the warehouse.
  • May experience extended period of standing.
  • Regularly lifting and carrying objects (up to 40 pounds).
  • Working in moderately noisy environments, normal for industrial environments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Occasionally managing a challenging and high-pressure situation requiring composure.
  • Working with production equipment, powered machinery, and hand tools including hydraulic crimpers, saws, grinders, cutter, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Successfully pass drug test screenings throughout employment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish connections.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions accurately.
  • Proficient in using computers and relevant software applications to process customer-related tasks such as Microsoft Office Suite, and CRM software.
  • Basic knowledge of customer service principles, focusing on exceptional customer experiences.
  • Ability to handle customer complaints and inquiries professionally, seeking to provide satisfactory resolutions.
  • Commit to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to safety protocols.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle customer interactions effectively.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent.


Experience

Previous experience in sales and customer service role is preferred.
