Job description

Senior Digital Strategist

Maven Strategies is seeking a Senior Digital Associate to provide digital and communications support to its clients, which include electoral campaigns and advocacy organizations. The ideal candidate will be prepared to carry out this position's primary duty of writing copy and using digital tools to engage supporters and raise funds.

Responsibilities:

  • Ideate, write, proofread, and execute message-focused email and SMS fundraising programs for multiple clients across multiple platforms
  • Work in coordination with finance teams to integrate digital fundraising goals into overall plans
  • Create ongoing analytics reports from clients' digital programs
  • Build and maintain websites
  • Create online signup and engagement forms
  • Launch social media accounts
  • Create graphics using client branding
  • Write and manage acquisition plans and digital ad campaigns

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, political science, public policy, or a related field preferred
  • Previously worked 2-4 election cycles with a progressive electoral campaign, advocacy organization, or nonprofit
  • Strong persuasive writing skills and the ability to draft copy quickly while maintaining attention to detail
  • Willingness to quickly learn new skills and digital tools
  • Excellent project and time management skills, ability to organize and prioritize around long term and short term goals, track progress, and analyze outcomes
  • Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients
  • Detail oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

Preferred skills:

  • Experience writing political fundraising emails and SMS messages
  • Experience working with email CRMs or online organizing platforms (EveryAction/NGP, ActBlue, Action Network)
  • Experience or familiarity with texting SMS platforms (Switchboard, Get Thru or others)
  • Ability to build and maintain websites using WordPress and Wix
  • Experience designing digital and print graphics (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or InDesign); video editing experience is a plus
  • Understanding of paid and organic social media copywriting and best practices
  • Familiarity with Facebook Ads and Google Ads
