Job Description

Role: Finance Assistant

Campaign: Justice Anita Earls for North Carolina Supreme Court

Start Date: Hiring on a rolling basis with a goal to start June 2026

Length: Through November 30, 2026

Reports to: Finance Director

Earls for Justice is hiring a Finance Assistant to support the finance operation for an incumbent statewide campaign. As the only NC Supreme Court seat up in 2026, this race will be one of the races to watch in North Carolina and across the nation.

The Finance Assistant will assist the Finance Director with a range of duties in the Finance Department. The assistant will help with administrative work, donor outreach, fundraising calls, fundraising events, and other duties as assigned. The person in this role will work alongside the campaign's other finance assistant.

This is an entry level position. Ideal applicants will have some experience in fundraising, political campaigns, and/or other related work. This race will be one of the top races of the 2026 midterms, and will be an excellent learning and growth opportunity.

  • Database Management & Data Entry
  • Conduct donor research and ensure the campaign's database (Numero) is kept up to date
  • Upload donor contact information into the campaign's database.
  • Frequent use of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, GoogleDocs, and GoogleSheets.
  • Assist the finance director with other administrative tasks and data entry tasks, as needed
  • Assist with utilizing Numero, Microsoft Excel & Word, to prepare and print individualized thank you notes for campaign donors.
  • Fundraising Events
  • Call existing and prospective donors to solicit donations in support of fundraising events and general campaign fundraising.
  • Oversee a portfolio of fundraising event hosts throughout NC. The portfolio will expand as the finance assistant grows into their role.
  • Responsible for planning, staffing, and executing fundraising events.
  • Cultivate, build, and maintain relationships with NC donors and political stakeholders.
  • Memos
  • Assist with writing memos for fundraising events and donor meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned, includes but not limited to:
  • Provide support for other areas of the campaign, as needed

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and produce results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • 1+ years of experience with political campaigns, fundraising, or related work. (internships & volunteer work counts as experience!)
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about Democratic candidates, and dedicated to re-electing Justice Anita Earls.
  • Willing to work nights and weekends, and longer work hours.
  • Energetic and willing to go the extra mile.
  • Access to cell phone, laptop, a valid driver's license, and reliable transportation.
