Job Title: Rental Manager

Location: Fredericksburg, Virginia

Starting Compensation Range: $84,000 - $109,000 per year

The Rental Manager is responsible for managing and controlling the rental store/stores to ensure a safe, efficient and profitable operation to support the rental store/stores and corporate objectives by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate Team Members.

What You Will Do: 

  • Manage all aspects of the Rental and Service business for assigned rental store/stores across entire facility including equipment, service trucks, yard, shop, customer and office areas
  • Manage day to day interaction with the sales and service team
  • Confer with customers and representatives of associated industries to evaluate and promote improved rental services in area
  • Establish a culture of professionalism, open interactive team communication with a focus on a high sense of urgency for customers
  • Assist Area Rental Operations Manager in creating annual business plan and budget to promote machine rentals
  • Assist in setting the pace for the sales force, and assisting the sales manager in setting mutually agreed yearly goals and working toward achieving them
  • Develop and maintain a culture of safety and teamwork
  • Manage profit and loss responsibilities for the rental store/ especially branch controlled expenses like Rental Repair and Maintenance, Damage Recovery, Cash Write Off and Hauling Recovery
  • Develop and manage employees' growth through coaching, mentoring and training. Establish and enforce training requirements for all branch personnel in conjunction with rental requirements
  • Will work in conjunction with Area Operations Manager on Individual Development Plans to continue to advance skills/knowledge
  • Manage rental store equipment workflow and financial performance
  • Work with Rental Asset Manager and Asset Coordinators on any rental fleet damage or maintenance issues, as well as, assist in the completion of Annual Aerial Inspections & DOT Inspections, as required
  • Responsible for Net Loyalty Score and follow up, as needed 
  • Maintaining a retail appearance in customer areas; neat in appearance at all times
  • Participation in the Continuous Improvement Process
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned

Seeking Candidates with:

  • Minimum three years’ management experience in a service related industry
  • Minimum two years' supervisory experience
  • Experience in the Rental Equipment Industry, preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Required to sit and talk or hear
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focus

In addition to base pay, the compensation package may include participation in performance-based incentive programs (e.g., discretionary or non-discretionary plans), as well as overtime eligibility depending on the role.
