Job Summary:

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the management of maintenance to company assets in the field. This position will manage account/location/ramp specific maintenance needs and their associated costs in order to ensure quality repairs and safety standards. The incumbent will orient and onboard new maintenance operations staff while emphasizing company and governmental safety practices. This position has the possibility to work outdoors, in the elements, or across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends in addition to overtime; full-time attendance required.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the performance of internal and external service provider(s) to ensure they meet company standards and remain within budget; resolve overcharged invoices, rework repairs, and warranty filings
  • Provide facility maintenance support to accounts during start up and shutdown processes as required, including, but not limited to, assembling onsite storerooms and office furniture, coordinating and assisting with office repairs, and receiving bids from vendors
  • Foster and maintain communication and cooperation between operations and maintenance personnel
  • Inspect J.B. Hunt equipment at assigned accounts and vendors; perform repairs and verify settings meet company standards as necessary
  • Ensure parts and supplies for vendors are available and shipped in a timely fashion to minimize parts costs and equipment downtime; maintain tire inspections and cost containment as required
  • Utilize internal systems to monitor and track equipment needing service and campaigns; identify units that are overdue and make arrangements to have these items completed as soon as possible
  • Maintain the company's safety culture by promoting a safe work environment through inspection of operating equipment and facilities in compliance with federal and state regulations
  • Act as a subject matter expert for accounts by consulting on maintenance policies and procedures; utilize continuous training to keep account personnel in the know
  • Provide support to internal fleet support teams on vendor and invoicing issues; conduct audits on domiciled vendors and vendors with a high monthly spend
  • Determine and maintain budgets for assigned accounts; provide input on opportunities to purchase equipment by evaluating condition and estimated net worth
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent WITH 3-5 years of industry related experience and/or military equivalent
  • AND Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record as per J.B. Hunt standards


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Class A Commercial Driver's License
  • Ability to fulfill physical requirements (lift/move up to 50 pounds)
  • Ability to wear appropriate work attire (protective gear/PPE)
  • Aptitude for learning new technologies/software applications and specialized equipment
  • Ability to determine the root cause of problems and create alternative solutions that resolve the problems in the best interest of the business
  • Ability to administer a budget
  • Basic construction skills, i.e. remodeling office spaces, replacing fixtures (lighting/plumbing), painting
  • Experience in the transportation industry
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to use time and resources efficiently and effectively
  • Knowledge of approaches and techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving operations or process problems
  • Ability to use a logical approach to derive a specific conclusion from general ideas
  • Willingness to travel up to 60%

Compensation:

Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company's bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
