Arcosa Traffic Structures is looking for a Buyer-Planner on-site in Sumterville, FL. In this role the you will perform supply chain and logistics functions, which may include, but are not limited to, material procurement, MRO procurement, outsourcing, vendor selection, production scheduling, capacity planning, and order fulfillment.
You will also be responsible for establishing key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to supply chain planning/forecasting to measure actual performance against goals and promotes alignment by understanding and communicating customer needs and requirements throughout the organization.

What you'll do:
• Perform supply chain and logistics functions, which may include, but are not limited to material procurement, MRO procurement, outsourcing, vendor selection, production scheduling, capacity planning, and order fulfillment.
• Control the monthly checkbook for MRO spending in conjunction with the Accounting Department.
• Compile data on order volume, forecasts and apply statistical methods to estimate future material requirements and stocking levels.
• Negotiate favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers.
• Correct and research variances for AP items on-hold (PO vs. quantity received vs. Invoice)
• Plan, schedule and monitor inbound movement of materials from suppliers
• Plan, schedule and monitor internal production schedules to optimize material flow
• Develop and maintain rough capacity plans to balance backlog against production capability.
• Able to use and troubleshoot MRP systems
• Manage MRP parameters, lead times, and lot sizes, and collaborate with engineering and production to optimize master data.
What you'll need:
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills
• Strong MRP skills
• Problem solving skillset to improve MRP
• 5-7 years of manufacturing experience preferred
• 3-5 years of procurement of steel purchasing and/or production scheduling.
• Associates degree preferred or equal experience
Working Conditions:
• Work environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds.
• This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays
• Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant.
• Sitting for long periods of time in computer environment
