Job Summary

Reporting to the Chief Digital Officer, the AVP Enterprise Architecture is responsible for designing and communicating the shared architectural vision and standards for the Information Technology organization to drive industry-leading capability at Molina. The role will lead the teams responsible for developing and generating designs, which include conceptual, logical, and physical application and infrastructure solutioning, by working with development teams to define designs and resulting artifacts, including documents and artifacts, configuration policies and guidelines, and risk assessments.

The AVP Architecture will collaborate with senior technology and business leaders to develop a plan for the enterprise's technical ecosystem and create an end-state architecture with a deep understanding of the business vision/drivers/objectives across the lines of business (LOBs) .

This key leadership position will drive alignment to a shared technical vision as well as roadmap through a team of enterprise and solution architects, partnering with the business architects in the LOBs to ensure success to achieving that end-state vision.

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement a robust and achievable roadmap that transitions the legacy technology ecosystem to target destination state of Platform as a Service (PAAS) and Software as a Service (SAAS)
  • Drive the enterprise and solution architecture practices and delivery in support of the LOBs strategic direction
  • Partner with product, LOB and infrastructure leadership to architect best-in-class solutions that meet the needs of the businesses, customers, clients, and other stakeholders
  • Develop implementable architecture blueprints and patterns that align with best-in-class design and software engineering principles
  • Provide thought leadership to the enterprise on key industry and technology trends, staying current on new and emerging trends while also evaluating their applicability to Molina's strategy
  • Develop and promote architecture best practices and guidelines for Enterprise Architecture
  • Adopt a security-first design that embeds robust authentication, hardened infrastructure and resilient connectivity across Cloud and data center environments.
  • Drive adoption of an aligned vision for a modern cloud architecture that supports agility, innovation, and resilience.
  • Initiate, champion, and govern digital platform-centric delivery strategy, scaling the use of strategic platforms to deliver new business strategies and capabilities.

Job Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Computer Science fields.

Required Experience:

  • 10 years of experience in a software engineering environment in large global corporations.
  • 10 years of experience in managing teams delivering large-scale solutions across multiple business units and geographies.
  • 5+ years of enterprise architecture experience in complex technology ecosystems.
  • 3+ years of healthcare experience.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure planning, sizing, virtualization, containerization, and cloud.
  • Fluent in infrastructure support technologies such as ServiceNow, Splunk.
  • Specific domain expertise within either Medicaid or Medicare insurance is required.
  • Experience with Global Delivery Models and working with third party consultancies.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Recognized technology and architecture leader with proven track record of delivering software engineering initiatives at scale and cross technology/business initiatives with a focus on payor applications.
  • Ability to cultivate a culture of openness, transparency and inclusion and build, maintain, and grow high-performing architecture teams globally.
  • Strong leadership, influence, and negotiation skills with both business and technical groups.
  • Healthcare background.
  • Working in matrixed environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
  • 5 years of healthcare experience
  • Expertise in AI / ML technologies, including Open AI and Claude, combined with strong experience in Azure Cloud and enterprise infrastructure architecture.

Travel Requirements:

Air Travel: 10%
