Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Specifier to join our team. The Project Specifier supports architectural project teams by producing, editing, and coordinating technical specifications from design through construction. They ensure documentation aligns with firm standards, project requirements, and applicable codes, while actively collaborating with project architects, consultants, and design technology teams.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with project teams to compose project specifications ensuring internal drawing/specifications coordination and project compliance with laws, regulations, and codes in coordination with global project requirements.
  • Mentor project leadership in the development of individual project specifications.
  • Attend client and consultant meetings with focus on specifications.
  • Perform quality control review of specifications throughout project phases to correct errors and improve consistency.
  • Remain current and research innovative industry systems and products to ensure construction documents include accurate, up-to-date product and system selections.
  • Apply firm master specification content consistently and provide feedback to Senior Specifications Leader for future updates.
  • Coordinate with Digital Practice to improve linkages between project models and specifications.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture is strongly preferred. Construction Documents Technologist (CDT) and Certified Construction Specifier (CCS) certifications are a plus.
  • 5 - 10 years of experience within an architecture, engineering, or construction (AEC) environment or dedicated specifications role preferred.
  • Experience using SpecLink or similar specifications software preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Detail-oriented, with a commitment to accuracy, quality, and consistency in documentation and project deliverables.
