Job description

We’re seeking a talented sales leader who is very familiar with the construction sales cycle. The successful candidate must have well-established relationships within architectural, specifier, facilities management, distribution and contractor communities.

 

Summary of the role:

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for managing and developing a sales force of independent and company reps to achieve revenue and profit goals within the East region of the United States (New York, New Jersey, E. Pennsylvania, Delaware, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida). The RSM will implement short- and long-term sales strategies to achieve company targets. The successful candidate will have a positive impact on the culture of the organization and promote a “can do” environment.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recommend products and/or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction
  • Exceed established sales quotas and business objectives
  • Build relationships with sales representatives and customers
  • Conduct customer training sessions on Lencore products and services
  • Analyze sales and market trends to develop regional strategy
  • CRM Management and coaching for Independent Rep Firms
  • Represent the company at regional and national Industry events
  • Own the sales process from prospecting to closing the deal
  • Achieve customer satisfaction and quality standards
  • Coordinate orders with internal team to ensure accurate on time delivery
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience & Education Requirements:

  • Proven leadership skills
  • Self-motivated and a self-starter
  • CRM experience, preferably Salesforce
  • Familiarity with specification process and the Architectural/Specifier community
  • Prior experience in the Audio/Visual, System Integrators, Low Voltage Industries a plus
  • Exceptional selling skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Possess a valid driver license and provide own vehicle for transportation in region; vehicle insurance must be current and in compliance with state regulations
  • Supervisory or management experience, preferably of independent sales teams
  • Working knowledge of market dynamics and segments within the assigned sales region
  • Demonstrated record of achievement in a prior sales position
  • Ability to learn and communicate product specific information to position features and benefits
  • Knowledge of sound masking and/or Paging systems a plus
  • Computer literate with intermediate knowledge of all Microsoft Office Applications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales management in a technical industry
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship

Location & Travel:

  • Candidates must reside within the East region near a major airport hub; candidate residing in New York Metro, New Jersey or Eastern Pennsylvania preferred  
  • Position will work remotely from a home office, with frequent trips to market and corporate headquarters in New York
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time
