THE COMPANY
Our client, a well established Architecture and Design firm, is seeking a skilled Project Manager to manage and coordinate projects and project teams from their Chicago office. This firm emphasize a collaborative and progressive work culture and do a lot of work in the restaurant and hospitality sector.
THE JOB
As a Project Manager, at either an advanced intermediate or senior level, you will oversee project phases through design development, construction documents preparation, and construction period services. The successful candidate will work with project coordination, site visits, project financials, manage client relationships, team communication and liaise with municipal authorities, and you will be responsible for reviewing work, quality control and ensuring projects are delivered to set budget and timelines. Ultimately, you will oversee the successful execution of restaurant and hospitality projects, in collaboration with the senior partners and architects in the firm.
WHAT'S REQUIRED
  • Minimum 7 ears' relevant experience in the North American Architectural Industry, with at least 4 years working with project management
  • Registration with an association is an asset
  • Multi-disciplinary experience with a variety of mid to large sized project work experience required. Some franchise work like Starbucks or similar would be strongly preferred
  • Ability to develop a detailed work plan for all architectural and engineering disciplines, allocate hours to the work plan, and monitor project progress
  • PMP Designation an asset
  • Good knowledge of the Building code
  • Maintain a good understanding of the project scope and when changes to the scope occur, negotiate solutions to ensure outcomes meet client expectations and contractual obligations
  • Ability to coordinate architects and engineers in the quality assurance and quality control procedures for all deliverables, specifically the construction drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD are preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in building technology including wood frame, steel and concrete construction
  • Coordinate with contractor, sub-consultants, or relevant building authorities to address and document issues with constructability or owner concerns
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal
