Job description

The Architectural Project Manager oversees all phases of project development, including conceptual design, space planning, documentation, consultant coordination, permitting, construction administration, and project closeout. This role acts as a primary liaison between clients, architects, engineers, contractors, department project managers and internal leadership. The Architectural Project Manager ensures design integrity, efficient workflow, and adherence to organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
The position requires excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with an ability to balance big-picture planning with day-to-day project management. The Architectural Project Manager must demonstrate sound judgment, manage risks proactively, and foster a collaborative and solution-oriented project environment.
This position offers a hybrid work schedule in Deerfield Beach, FL (3 days a week onsite), and requires well-developed technical skills.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead architectural projects from initial concept through design, permitting, construction, and turnover.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, scopes of work, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors.
  • Facilitate design charrettes, user-group meetings, and stakeholder presentations.
  • Review and approve design documents, technical drawings, and specifications for accuracy and quality.
  • Oversee permitting processes, regulatory compliance, and jurisdictional approvals.
  • Maintain proactive communication with clients and internal leadership regarding project progress, risks, and decisions.
  • Assist assigned Project Manager with construction administration functions, including RFIs, submittals, site visits, field reports, and punch lists.
  • Ensure that design intent and brand standards are maintained throughout all project phases.
  • Promote collaboration, problem-solving, and value-driven solutions across teams.
  • Support continuous improvement of project delivery processes, tools, and best practices.
  • Manage the real estate database for Enterprise consisting of drawings, closeout manuals and any relevant historical data.
  • Maintain the JMFE Design Guidelines making periodic updates from lessons learned, changes in policy and procedures, technology or trends.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of architectural project management experience.
  • Proficiency with industry software (Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Project, and related tools).
  • Strong understanding of building codes, permitting, and construction processes.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and client-relationship skills.
  • Experience in commercial, corporate, industrial, or workplace design projects.
