Job description

What you'll do:

  • Own the integrated hybrid powertrain verification 
  • Take the systems engineering inputs of a turboshaft / turbogenerator powertrain system including batteries, motors and other complex mechanical parts and verify the system through test 
  • Own the verification of the turbogenerator on the test-bench and into the aircraft including the start of the flight test campaign
  • Contribute to the design reviews of the turbogenerator in providing expert test and operation knowledge
  • Manage suppliers, engineers and other stakeholders to ensure verification can happen safely and on time
  • Ensure 3rd party stakeholders deliver on-time
  • Ensure all verification activities can be performed safely

What you'll need:

  • BS / MS / PhD in a related scientific or engineering field.
  • 10+ years experience in complex system verification
  • Ability to operate quickly and to tight timelines in ensuring testing happens on time and can provide sufficient 
  • Strong fundamentals and demonstrated understanding of systems engineering
  • Experience with industry-standard tools and operational behaviours for turbine and / or electrical systems
  • A systematic approach to problem-solving and the ability to communicate complex, technical rationale to multidisciplinary stakeholders.
  • Extremely self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead technical initiatives alone and to tight deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience writing comprehensive technical reports and documents.

Nice to have:

  • Prior experience with hybrid-electric aircraft, eVTOLs, or hybrid automotive powertrains
  • Prior experience with turboshafts, turbines and turbogenerators
  • Familiarity with FAA or EASA certification 
  • Knowledge of simulation model validation, model calibration, and uncertainty quantification methods
