Job description


Aramark Healthcare+ is seeking candidates for an EVS Safety & Training Manager position to support the Penn Medicine Health System, located in the Philadelphia, PA. Responsible for facilitating new hire and ongoing training for all Environmental Services Managers and Hourly Staff including all required monthly and annual trainings. This is to ensure that Aramark and hospital processes are learned, practiced, and welcomed by clients and customers. Additionally, this position will manage all Safety within the EVS Department and will be 100% responsible for managing the waste stream (including medical waste and sharps) and documentation.
Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for EVS Training for facilitating all salaried and hourly employees - new hires and all ongoing monthly/annual required training.
  • Maintains records and accountable for ensuring all training records, competencies and regulatory training is up to date.
  • Facilitates classroom style, group training and one to one spot safety training ensuring compliance with client and Aramark safety programs
  • Serves as point of contact for safety related claims and issues. Participates in safety calls.
  • Maintains friendly, efficient, positive customer service attitude toward customers, clients, and co-workers.
  • Provides effective feedback to both employee and the management team.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and courtesy when answering/responding to all calls and requests.
  • Ensures employees comply with JCAHO, OSHA, Aramark, hospital, and infection control.
  • Provides employees with checklists, guidebooks, or other training material to ensure proper procedures and processes are followed.
  • Assists in enhancing productivity and efficient operations of the department.
  • Additionally, manages the waste stream process and compliance including documentation and manifesto (trash, medical waste)
  • Demonstrates commitment to professional growth and competence by adherence to hospital policies.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of Environmental Services Management experience required.
  • Acute Care Hospital experience required including knowledge of OR and ED cleaning.
  • Technical Safety Knowledge required.
  • Proven experience managing and training hourly staff required whether in operations or in a formal training role.
  • Strong customer orientations is required for success in this position.
  • Will be skilled in directing and motivating the staff; have knowledge of infection control techniques.
  • Must have effective oral and written communication skills, having the ability to work well with others at all levels.
  • Knowledge of pertinent regulatory agencies and the policies, codes, standards, and regulations that applies Environmental Services.
  • Must have detailed organization and prioritizing skills with the ability to train; teach, demonstrate and follow-up on all assignments, when necessary.
  • Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Can interpret and follow technical instructions and complete assignments timely; showing a sense of urgency.
