Main Tasks
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, track, and verify all aspects of the supplier APQP process for purchased parts and inter-company partners
  • Conduct supplier process releases and production readiness assessments as required
  • Ensure customer and internal MANN+HUMMEL quality requirements are fully integrated into the APQP process
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on APQP tools (including customer-specific requirements) within the project team
  • Communicate lessons learned and support standardization and continuous improvement of APQP processes across SQD
  • Exercise authority to stop production processes or product shipments in case of non-conformity
  • Own and execute all quality activities defined within xSEP; evaluate completeness and adherence to APQP deliverables across project phases
  • Collaborate with Lead Design Engineer to review drawings (AZ/WZ) and ensure proper definition of dimensions, special characteristics, and specifications prior to release
  • Ensure conformity of parts delivered to the customer throughout development phases prior to SOP; approve sample releases for shipment
  • Coordinate and submit customer PPAP packages and secure customer approval
  • Lead structured problem-solving (e.g., 8D) for customer claims and internal deviations prior to SOP
  • Support production sites during launch, including updates to quality documentation
  • Obtain production site approval for quality handover documentation per IPT checklist prior to Gate 6
  • Present project quality status and readiness to customers

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, or
  • Associate degree (AAS) with 10+ years of advanced quality experience

Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Quality Engineer, Project Engineer, or in a closely related role within automotive or manufacturing environments

Preferred :
Two years of experience with:
  • Interpreting drawings and requirements for ensuring the adherence to Quality parameters
  • Supporting launch activities at sister plants and supplier locations
  • Use of tools such as xSEP, Engineering Workflows, CDB, QStat, Apis IQ-FMEA, and SAP
  • Using APQP procedures, 8D, control plan, capability analysis, MSA, SPC, FMEA, GD&T, and Gage Design

Additional Requirement:
  • Up to 25% of international and national travel required to various unanticipated locations
