Job Description

What you will do
The Procurement Engineer- Light Commercial HVAC is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the supply of materials, components, and services required for engineering and manufacturing projects. This role works closely with engineering, operations, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance with quality standards. The position requires strong negotiation skills, technical understanding, and strategic procurement capabilities.

How you will do it

  • Support product development from the early design phase.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for engineering Direct materials components.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, delivery, and technical capability aligned with our Category managers.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, and production teams to support new product development and ongoing operations.
  • Collaborate with engineering to select materials and components.
  • Ensure timely procurement of materials to meet targets, Quality, cost, schedules and project timelines.
  • Support VA/VE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering), teardowns, make vs buy initiatives. 
  • Analyze market trends, search technical solutions, bring up new technologies, innovation and cost structures to identify savings opportunities.
  • Mitigate supply chain risks by developing contingency plans and alternative sourcing options.
  • Manage procurement process across locations (RFQ, samples, sourcing meetings, NPI/NPD).
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, contract requirements, and regulatory standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes.
  • Implementation and continuous improvement of standardization activities.
  • Target cost responsible for direct material purchase parts.
  • Ensure full cost transparency for all new parts.
  • Support APQP, PPAP, and other quality requirements.
  • Support all ECN processes and provide feedback to PUR (commercial purchase buyers).

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related technical area.
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in procurement or related discipline.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Ability to gather, relate and summarize information into logical conclusions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with internal customers and suppliers.
  • Solid project management skills to facilitate project/program compliance
  • Demonstrated leadership, organization, planning, administration and team skills.
  • Requires advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite, read engineering drawings and the ability to use business systems software. Familiarity with SAP desired.
