Job description

POSITION SUMMARY — Monitor and audit all departments to ensure our products are world class quality and meet or exceeds the quality requirements of our vendors and customers. Drive all APQP and PPAP related activities for specific customers. Help to maintain all necessary ISO/IATF certifications. Supervise and manage quality technicians.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT — Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.
 
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Comply with all internal processes and policies and all environmental and safety protocols
  • Contribute input to customer audits
  • Conduct tier-internal assessments and internal audits
  • Issue Material Complaint Notices MCN’s to supply base
  • Ensure containment of suspect and non-conforming product
  • Work with research and development through problem solving activities
  • Verify effective corrective action and replication
  • Develop internal processes
  • New product launches
  • Plan, execute and submit PPAP packages to customers for approval, monitor performance of quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency
  • Analyze quality control test results and provide feedback and interpretation to production management or staff
  • Create and implement inspection and testing criteria or procedures
  • Track defects, test results, or other regularly reported quality control data
  • Identify critical points in the manufacturing process and specify sampling procedures to be used at these points
  • Identify quality problems or areas for improvement and recommend solutions
  • Instruct staff in quality control and analytical procedures
  • Instruct vendors and contractors on quality guidelines, testing procedures, or ways to eliminate deficiencies
  • Monitor development of new products to help identify possible problems for mass production
  • Participate in the development of product specifications
  • Produce reports regarding nonconformance of products or processes, daily production, root cause analysis, or quality trends
  • Review and update standard operating procedures and quality assurance manuals
  • Collect and analyze production samples to evaluate quality
  • Coordinate the selection and implementation of quality control equipment such as inspection gauges
  • Evaluate new testing and sampling methodologies or technologies to determine usefulness
  • Review statistical studies, technological advances, or regulatory standards and trends to stay current on issues in the field of quality control
  • Stop production if serious product defects are present
  • Ability to stop the production line and/or prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customers
  • Maintain and support the environmental policy with deployment, governance of the policy and processes, evaluation and taking action for process improvement

  • Ability to supervise multiple subordinates while still participating in the day to day operations 
 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
 
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering related field preferred
Experience: Three to seven years related quality experience preferred
Computer Skills:  Must demonstrate computer literacy; Proficient using Microsoft Office and Minitab, Solid Works, Auto CAD, PCDimus or CMM related programming; Ability to utilize vendor and customer software programs
Certificates & Licenses: Must be eligible to obtain a Passport; ASQ certification preferred; IATF 16949 Auditor Certification
