ABOUT THE ROLE Allied Mechanical is looking for motivated Sheet Metal Apprentices to join our HVAC and mechanical contracting teams. This is a ground-floor opportunity to build a career in the trades - you'll work alongside experienced journeymen and foremen learning to fabricate and install ductwork, fittings, and mechanical systems across commercial and industrial job sites. WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Assist journeymen and foremen with layout, fabrication, and installation of sheet metal ductwork and fittings
  • Learn to operate shop equipment including shears, benders, rollers, and Pittsburgh/snap lock machines under supervision
  • Help stage and load fabricated materials for transport to job sites
  • Read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and shop tickets as skills develop
  • Keep work areas clean and organized - enforce proper PPE use and follow safety protocols at all times
  • Support field crews with material handling, tool management, and general labor as directed
  • Participate in on-the-job training and any apprenticeship program coursework required by the company

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:
  • Willingness to learn the sheet metal trade and commit to a long-term career path
  • Basic mechanical aptitude - comfortable working with tools and hands-on tasks
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly and perform physical work in varying conditions (heat, heights, confined spaces)
  • Reliable transportation and consistent attendance
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening

  • Some prior construction, fabrication, or trades experience - any craft welcome
