Job description

Overview

To collect, return and prepare materials, supplies, tools and equipment used for mechanical services maintenance or projects. Responsibilities include assisting team leaders and gaining knowledge on heating, cooling, refrigeration and plumbing systems projects or repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the necessary tools, supplies, equipment, and materials used for mechanical services maintenance or projects
  • Assist team leaders with repair or preventative maintenance of HVAC and Plumbing systems
  • Assist Mechanics and perform mechanical preventative maintenance tasks related to the HVAC, Refrigeration, or plumbing systems
  • Assist with installation, alteration, maintenance and repair of all water pipes, bathroom fixtures, water coolers, water heaters, the water pressure booster pumps, the hydronic closed water system
  • Assist and conduct minor repairs and replace faulty components within our HVAC and Plumbing System
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and current equipment conditions though our Facility Management System
  • Complete service orders initiated by Navy Federal Credit Union employees at all levels assigned by the Supervisor Mechanical and notifies customer when completed
  • Ensure Compliance of safety standards and protocols, including participation in Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) which is mandatory
  • Commitment to follow all safety procedures and practices, including proper PPE use
  • Ensure that tools, supplies, equipment, and materials used in mechanical projects are returned in an effective, efficient manner
  • Use multiple computer-based applications such as Excel and Word
  • Pick up and delivers supplies as required
  • Use multiple computer-based application such as Excel, Word, and various building management systems
  • Perform other related duties as required or appropriate

Qualifications

  • Must possess valid driver's license
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Knowledge of the tools, mathematics, materials, and safety regulations associated with HVAC and plumbing mechanic trade
  • Ability to work from ladders, platforms and hard to reach areas
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member to gain the cooperation of others
  • Effective interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lift, move and set up tools, equipment and furniture weighing up to 50 pounds
  • HVAC or Plumbing Vocational enrollment
  • Two years' experience in the HVAC and/or plumbing trades, or successful completion of first year classes in the Apprenticeship Program for HVAC mechanics
