 Position Summary

The Electrical Apprentice is an entry-level role that offers hands-on training, mentorship, and the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the electrical industry. Working under the direction of experienced electricians, this position supports the installation of electrical systems in commercial environments, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and to specification.

 Essential Functions

Project Preparation & Setup
  • Read and interpret plans and specifications for assigned projects.

  • Prepare work areas for the installation of equipment.

  • Set up and operate tools such as hydraulic benders, power threaders, power pullers, and cable vacuum systems.

Installation Support
  • Assist with all aspects of commercial electrical installation according to plans, specifications, and applicable codes.

  • Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit.

  • Assist in mounting and strapping conduit.

  • Connect wiring and equipment per code and job specifications.

Documentation & Communication
  • Communicate job status, issues, and recommendations to management in a timely manner.

  • Provide accurate and timely documentation of work performed.

Safety & Compliance
  • Operate company or personal vehicle in compliance with all local laws.

  • Adhere to safety protocols and operate vehicles and equipment safely.

  • Report hazards and risks promptly; contribute to a safe and secure working environment.

Competencies
  1. Basic understanding of electrical tools, equipment, and installation techniques.

  2. Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.

  3. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Work Environment

Work is performed in active construction environments and may include exposure to elevated temperatures, energized equipment, and loud noise.

Physical Demands

Must be able to conduct site walks, climb ladders, and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Must be comfortable working in manufacturing and job site environments.

Travel

Travel between job sites may be required.

Required Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • 1-4 years of experience in the field or related area.

  • Enrolled in an electrical apprenticeship program within 1 year of hire.

  • Valid driver's license in good standing.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Experience working in data centers.
