Job description

Smith Ambulance Services is offering a PAID Apprentice program that will educate candidates and prepare them to successfully complete the National Registry Exam to become a licensed EMT. This is an accelerated class, lasting 6 weeks. Class times will be Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. Clinical and ride time hours are also required for the course. While in class, students will be paid. After successfully completion of the National Registry exam, students can be hired by any of the sister companies where the salary ranges from $34,185 to $49,740 depending on the shift and schedule chosen.
Next class will start June 2026. Any applications submitted between now and mid-May will be considered for that class.
MINIMUM APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Hold a valid Ohio Driver's License
  • High School diploma or GED

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Complete the pre-entrance examination - given prior to the interview
  • Personal Health History, Immunization record, and Physician Physical Exam (Forms will be distributed in Acceptance Packet).
  • 10 Panel Urine Toxicology Screen is required. Results must be negative, includes THC. (Will be completed at interview)
